Chikkamagaluru

Some call him Dada. Some call him Baba.

He has been on every jar since the first one. Nobody in Chikkamagaluru agrees on his name, which felt like the right way to start a coffee company.

Straight answers

The questions people actually ask.

  • Bitterness comes from three places. Robusta beans, high heat, and chicory used to bulk the tin out. This is 100% Arabica, A1 grade, with no chicory in it at all.

  • A 200g jar is about a hundred cups at one teaspoon each. That works out near ten rupees a cup. A kaapi at a cafe is four to fifteen times that.

  • Yes. Grown there, and packed there. The address is on the back of the jar.

  • Velvet Roast if you drink it with milk and sugar. Sacred Reserve if you drink it black and you care about aroma. Royal Ember if you want it strong.

  • No. It dissolves clean in hot water. That is what the process is for.
